THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an experienced Scrum Master to support Agile software delivery teams within a structured engineering environment. You will act be embedding Agile best practices, enabling continuous improvement, and working closely with engineers, architects, and project stakeholders to ensure predictable, high-quality delivery.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Support the use and administration of software development tools such as JIRA, Jenkins, and Git, ensuring boards, workflows, and data are kept up to date.
  • Assist with software configuration management using tools such as Bitbucket and Artifactory to support version control and release activities.
  • Maintain change, task, and backlog management in JIRA, including tracking actions, problem reports, and delivery items.
  • Work within Agile delivery environments (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe), following defined processes and documentation such as Software Development Plans.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders through clear updates.
  • Collaborate as part of a project delivery team, engaging with engineers, architects, and the wider Software Engineering Management community.
  • Build effective working relationships with the software team and software architect to support coordinated delivery.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong experience working with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe
  • Proven ability to work within defined software development processes and governance frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership and facilitation skills, with the ability to guide and influence teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within delivery teams and engineering communities
  • Experience with project reporting, delivery metrics, dashboards, and governance forums
  • Proficient experience using JIRA for backlog, change, and task management
  • Proficient experience with software configuration management tools (e.g. Bitbucket, Artifactory)
  • Proficient understanding of software development tooling (e.g. JIRA, Jenkins, Git)
  • Solid understanding of Software Quality Assurance principles

Eligibility Requirement: This role is open to sole British nationals only, due to security and project constraints.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • Experience with software build pipelines using Jenkins or Git-based runners
  • Awareness of software languages, frameworks, and development toolsets
  • Experience supporting or implementing unit testing and wider testing practices
  • Exposure to working with PMO functions, including schedules, resourcing, and forward planning
  • Prior awareness or exposure to organisational quality processes (e.g. DDQS, Chorus)
  • Experience working within a CI/CD environment and driving continuous improvement
