$250,000 to $300,000 plus Superannuation

Altitude is partnering with a high-performing digital agency operating inside a global professional services firm. The team functions as a boutique digital studio - designing and building customer-facing digital products at enterprise scale, backed by the reach, clients, and stability of a major organisation.

This is a senior Technical Director role for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology leadership, delivery, and client-facing solutioning.

You will play a key role in shaping digital solutions, leading multidisciplinary engineering teams, and supporting new work through technical leadership and credibility.

What You’ll Be Doing

As Technical Director, you’ll be responsible for:

• Leading the technical solutioning and delivery of complex digital experiences (web, mobile, portals, platforms)
• Acting as a senior technical voice in client conversations, workshops, and pitches
• Owning end-to-end technical design, from discovery through to production delivery
• Leading and scaling multidisciplinary delivery teams, including engineers, architects, DevOps, and testers
• Ensuring delivery quality, technical standards, and best practices across engagements
• Collaborating closely with design, CX, product, and strategy teams
• Supporting business development through technical input, estimations, and solution shaping
• Helping grow and mature the engineering capability within the digital agency

This is a hands-on leadership role. You won’t be coding day to day, but you must be technically credible enough to challenge designs, guide architecture, and unblock teams.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for senior digital agency leaders with a strong technical foundation.

You’ll likely bring:

• Extensive experience in digital engineering, architecture, or technical delivery
• Current or recent experience as a Technical Director, Engineering Director, Head of Technology, or Principal Engineer within a digital agency or consultancy
• Strong experience delivering customer-facing digital products: Websites and platforms, Mobile applications (native or cross-platform), Portals and integration-heavy solutions
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary delivery teams in agile environments
• Confidence working directly with senior client stakeholders, including C-suite
• Exposure to pre-sales, solution design, or pitching for digital work
• A collaborative, commercial mindset, comfortable balancing delivery, people, and client outcomes

Experience with CMS, cloud platforms, integrations, MarTech, or AI-enabled solutions is highly regarded, but this is not a Martech-only role.
