Who We Are
Xestro is Australia’s largest healthcare SaaS provider for private medical specialist practices. Every day, thousands of clinicians rely on our software to run their practices and deliver better care. We’re well beyond the startup phase and in a period of strong growth, building new capabilities, modernising core products, and scaling to meet the demands of healthcare at large.
Why this role matters
We’re embarking on a flagship initiative to rebuild our clinical mobile application from the ground up. This is a chance to take ownership of a project that directly impacts doctors, staff, and patients. You’ll bring React Native expertise to a team that already has strong React skills, and you’ll set the direction, define best practices, and deliver a cross‑platform app (iOS and Android) that clinicians love to use.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the rebuild of our clinical mobile app using React Native.
- Collaborate with Product, UX, and Backend teams to deliver seamless, high‑quality features
- Integrate securely with backend systems via REST APIs
- Optimise for performance, scalability, and reliability in a clinical setting
- Shape architecture decisions, coding standards, and development workflows
- Ship and maintain applications in the iOS App Store and Google Play
- Strong professional experience in Reactive Native.
- Solid understanding of mobile app lifecycle, state management, and performance optimisation
- Proven track record integrating with RESTful APIs and managing async data flows
- Experience shipping and maintaining apps on the iOS App Store and Google Play
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and modern mobile development workflows
- Knowledge of offline/spotty connectivity strategies and resilient data‑entry workflows
- Exposure to OCR and document scanning on mobile (e.g., Google ML Kit)
- Experience with secure authentication and handling of sensitive PII data in compliance‑driven environments
- Background in healthcare technology or secure data‑handling standards
- Exposure to design collaboration tools like Figma
- Experience with Kotlin and Swift (helpful for maintaining our current native apps, but not required)
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to user‑focused design
- Oriented towards building smooth, reliable, and scalable mobile experiences
- Clear communicator who thrives in a cross‑functional team
- Open to feedback, eager to learn, and passionate about clean code
- Proactive builder’s mindset, you don’t just execute, you improve processes and outcomes
- Join a fast‑growing, values‑driven SaaS company solving real healthcare challenges
- Direct mentorship and exposure to mission‑critical medical software
- Lead a project with high visibility and impact across the healthcare sector
- Sunshine Coast lifestyle without the Brisbane commute
- A supportive, collaborative culture, fully onsite, but with flexibility (not a rigid 9–5)
