Chief Information Security Officer

Freelance CISO Opportunity based in Brussels.

I’m searching for an experienced CISO to step into the heart of a specialised Enterprise business unit, working alongside an elite team of senior specialists, including CISOs and Enterprise Architects.

This is a long-term freelance contract based in Brussels (with 1 day on-site per week), offering real autonomy and executive-level impact.

This role is all about influence and ownership:

• Act as a trusted advisor at CEO and board level
• Shape direction, challenge thinking, and drive meaningful security initiatives
• Be embedded in the business, not delivering tick-box compliance
• Create visible, long-lasting impact tied directly to business outcomes

You’ll have the chance to take ownership on enterprise accounts, with the freedom to define and execute your own cybersecurity strategy.

What you bring:

• A strong technical background that gives you credibility at executive level
• The ability to translate complex cyber risk into clear, business-led decisions
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Consulting or advisory experience (a strong advantage)
• Fluent Dutch speaking
