We are looking for a Design Manager Other Transport Structures:
Responsibilities:
- Design Management: Coordinate and manage the design process, including design development, review, and approval. Ensure adherence to project objectives, timelines, and budget constraints.
- Team Management: Lead a team of designers and engineers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise. Delegate tasks, monitor progress, and ensure effective communication within the team.
- Design Coordination: Collaborate with various stakeholders, such as architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, to align design requirements and resolve any conflicts or issues that may arise during the project.
- Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure that design deliverables comply with relevant standards, codes, and regulations. Conduct regular design reviews and audits to identify and address potential design deficiencies or risks.
- Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date with industry best practices, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to railway design. Provide technical guidance and expertise to ensure the implementation of innovative and efficient design solutions.
- Risk Management: Identify potential design risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact on the project. Evaluate design changes and assess their potential implications on cost, schedule, and overall project performance.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports. Generate progress reports, design updates, and other necessary documentation for project stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to address design-related queries, provide clarifications, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Problem-solving: Proactively identify design-related challenges and develop effective solutions in consultation with the project team. Troubleshoot design issues and provide technical support as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the design team by identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and quality in the design process
Qualifications:
- University degree in an adequate professional field
- Experience of at least 5 years as a Design Manager in the field of design and/or design supervision of other transport structures (bridge and/or viaduct and/or overpass and/or tunnel)
- Experience as Design Manager in at least 4 projects of completed/finalized design/detailed design/design supervision of other transport structures (bridge and/or viaduct and/or overpass and/or tunnel)
- Very good (at least B2 level) English language skills.
