🌍 Data Engineer Expert – On-site in Luxembourg

We are looking for a highly experienced Data Engineer Expert to provide technical consultancy services for data engineering and business intelligence projects within a public institution of the European Union.

📍 Location: Luxembourg (On-site)

💼 Contract Type: Project-based / Consultancy

🧠 Seniority Level: Expert

🗣️ Language: English C1 (mandatory)

🏛️ Project Context

The role supports a public institution of the European Union responsible for providing access to EU law, official publications, open data, research outputs, and other authoritative EU information.

🎯 Tasks & Responsibilities

Provide technical consultancy services for Data Engineering projects.
Contribute to Business Intelligence (BI) implementation projects in Microsoft Azure.
Analyse, design, and implement data ingestion, storage, processing, and security solutions in the cloud.
Manage and monitor data ingestion, storage, and processing workflows.
Develop and maintain data platforms in line with EU guidelines.
Participate in technical working groups and meetings with project teams, developers, stakeholders, and non-technical users.
Draft and review technical and functional/non-functional specifications in collaboration with Architecture and Operations teams.

🧠 Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with at least 3 years of post-secondary education in Data Science, IT, Computer Science, or Computing (EQF Level 6), or
2 additional years of professional experience in addition to the required experience.

Experience

Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including:
8 years in the Business Intelligence field
5 years working with Microsoft Azure
Experience with BI for process-driven applications.
Knowledge of EU Data Governance frameworks or equivalent.
Experience with EU Azure Security guidelines.
