Python Developer

Overview

SOTEC Consulting is seeking a skilled and motivated AWS Python Developer to play a pivotal role within Agile delivery squads, contributing to both transformation initiatives and business-as-usual (BAU) activities. This role focuses on building, enhancing, and supporting cloud-native solutions for Contact Centre platforms, with a strong emphasis on security, scalability, and automation.

The successful candidate will have hands-on experience developing AWS Lambda–based solutions using Python, implementing Infrastructure as Code, and working within CI/CD pipelines. Experience with Amazon Connect and related services is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a core contributor within Agile squads, supporting both transformation programs and BAU delivery.
• Design, develop, and maintain AWS Lambda functions using Python to support Contact Centre solutions.
• Build and implement Amazon Connect solutions, including Contact Flows and Amazon Lex bots.
• Ensure all solutions comply with security standards, governance policies, and industry regulations.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code using AWS CloudFormation, SAM CLI, and related tooling.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows to support continuous integration and delivery.
• Participate across the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners, architects, and operations teams.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve complex technical issues in a timely and effective manner.

Mandatory Skills and Experience

• Strong experience developing and implementing AWS Lambda functions using Python.
• Practical programming experience in Python (mandatory) and exposure to Java and JavaScript.
• Proven experience delivering Amazon Connect solutions, including Contact Flows and Amazon Lex development.
• Solid understanding of the SDLC, including software design, security, cloud-native architectures, and Infrastructure as Code.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD practices and Git-based workflows.
• Experience with AWS continuous delivery tooling such as CloudFormation and SAM CLI.
• Strong understanding of AWS architecture and cloud fundamentals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• AWS certification(s).
• Experience working in Agile environments using Scrum and/or Kanban, with tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
• Training or hands-on experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
• Prior experience in Contact Centre environments, including IVR systems.
