The Role

As a Software Engineer, you’ll join a small, highly capable engineering team shaping the future of a mission-critical platform.

You’ll design and build new capabilities that improve how financial institutions operate, working end-to-end across the development lifecycle. Engineers here are full-stack generalists who value clean design, quality engineering and a strong DevOps culture.

You’ll collaborate closely with colleagues in an agile environment, gaining exposure to all parts of the system and having real influence over technical decisions.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop and maintain server-side Java applications
• Contribute from requirements through to production deployment
• Build reliable, scalable solutions in collaboration with your team
• Participate in code reviews, testing and continuous integration
• Support operational excellence through DevOps practices

What You’ll Bring

• 3–5+ years’ experience in server-side Java development
• Strength in at least three areas such as web technologies, messaging, data modelling, security, concurrency or performance tuning
• A strong focus on testing, reliability and quality
• Experience working in small, productive Agile/Scrum teams
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (e.g. Postgres)
• Clear communication skills and a desire to keep learning

Nice to Have

• Experience in a scale-up or fast-growth environment
• Exposure to cloud platforms, Kubernetes or DevOps tooling
• A Computer Science degree or related background

Important Details

• Spain - Remote

Visits to Madrid quarterly and the occasional visit to the UK would be required (Additional costs covered via the Employer).

Initial contract would be via Deel (when the team is established the business will look to incorporate in Spain).

• Salary Range: €55,000-70,000 inclusive of benefits. Please note we are looking for high performing mid level engineers with 3-5yrs experience that would still benefit from mentoring.
