WHO ARE WE?

Sateliot is a Barcelona-based Startup in the New Space sector, becoming the first satellite telecommunications operator that will provide global and continuous connectivity to all the elements that will make up the massive Internet of Things (IoT) universe under the 5G protocol.

In order to do so, Sateliot is launching a constellation of last generation nanosatellites, located at low altitude that act as mobile towers. Sateliot is the perfect complement for large telecommunications companies by providing them with the necessary infrastructure where terrestrial technologies do not arrive.

YOUR MISSION

You will be part of NOC’s day-to-day operation and owner of its operational practices. As a principal user of NOC systems and workflows, you will run and maintain monitoring platforms, manage and update runbooks, define and tune alarms, and execute incident-response procedures. Your role is to make sure alerts are actionable, follow operational best practices, and keep the service observable, available and reliable.

You will also be a primary operational contact between Satellite Operations, IT Platform and customer teams. The IT Platform team will partner with you to build the monitoring dashboards, alerting logic, automation scripts and incident-management workflows you specify, while you lead continuous improvement of NOC workflows and tooling.

YOUR MAIN FUNCTIONS

  • Alarm Engineering & Requirements: Analyze the network architecture to identify monitorable elements; define alarm generation, thresholds, correlation and suppression rules; write functional requirements and test cases; and work with IT/Platform to implement and validate alarms and workflows.

  • End-to-end monitoring: Watch service health from satellite payload and ground stations, through backbone and cloud 5G Core, to MNO interconnects.

  • Incident management: Triage, escalate and coordinate cross-team restorations; produce incident reports and support root cause analysis.

  • Service lifecycle & changes: Support activation, maintenance, release validation and change management across space and ground network elements.

  • Performance & optimisation: Track KPIs, diagnose chronic degradations, and propose improvements across service performance.

  • Automation & observability: Improve dashboards, alerts and runbooks; contribute scripts/automation to reduce manual work.

  • Customer & partner ops: Support for customer issues relating to connectivity or service quality. Troubleshoot interconnects.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Higher education qualification (Vocational/Professional Training) or a degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, Computer Science or similar. 2–5 years in NOC, telco operations, or service assurance. Satellite or mobile network experience is a plus.

  • Networking: Strong grasp of networking fundamentals — TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, IP routing and QoS.

  • Network equipment: Experience managing configuration and troubleshooting network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, load-balancers).

  • Monitoring & analysis: Proficiency with NOC/network monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix) and modern observability stacks (ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).

  • Systems: Comfortable with Linux server administration and common operational tasks.

  • Cloud: Experience with cloud platforms and cloud-native services (AWS/GCP/Azure) and common cloud networking patterns (VPC, routing, peering).

  • Scripting & automation: Familiarity with scripting for automation (Python, Bash) is desirable.

  • Telco & interconnects (desirable): Familiarity with 4G/5G architecture and with traffic delivery to MNOs (peering, IPX/GRX concepts, APN configuration) and interconnect troubleshooting is desirable.
