We are currently looking for a Backend Developer to join our client for a short-term backend rewrite project.

The project involves a full backend rewrite and will be executed in close collaboration with an existing senior developer. The expected duration is 1–2 months, and the client is looking for someone who can start ASAP.

This is a contract-based engagement, open to hourly or fixed project-based compensation, and is ideal for developers who enjoy focused, high-impact technical work in a short timeframe.

Role Overview

As a Backend Developer, you will take an active role in fully rewriting the existing backend architecture using modern Node.js and TypeScript technologies.

You will work closely with the current engineering lead to redesign APIs, improve data models, enhance performance, and ensure the system meets scalability and security best practices.

This role requires strong backend fundamentals, clean architecture thinking, and the ability to move fast while maintaining high code quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the full backend rewrite alongside the core engineering team
• Design and implement scalable backend services using TypeScript & Node.js
• Build and structure applications using NestJS architecture
• Design clean, well-documented APIs and robust data models
• Optimize database performance and backend efficiency
• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms
• Apply best practices in backend security
• Contribute to system design decisions including scalability, caching, and messaging

Qualifications

• Strong experience with TypeScript and Node.js
• Hands-on experience with NestJS and modular backend architecture
• Solid understanding of API design and data modeling
• Experience working with databases and performance optimization
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and backend security best practices
• Good understanding of system design concepts such as scalability, caching, and messaging
• Ability to work independently and collaborate closely with another senior developer
• Availability to start immediately
