About The Role

Pragmatike is hiring on behalf of a fast-growing AI and trading startup building the first orchestration protocol that unifies all trading dimensions—signals, data, products, and venues—under a single AI-powered layer. The platform enables seamless trading across crypto and traditional financial markets using institutional-grade, AI-driven strategies.

The company is revolutionizing algorithmic trading through AI-powered autonomous agents that operate 24/7, removing emotional bias and optimizing execution. During its beta phase, the platform has already managed $500,000+ in assets and is scaling rapidly to support thousands of agents across multiple trading venues. The company is backed by a leading institutional investor in digital assets.

We are looking for a Backend / DevOps Engineer to own and scale the infrastructure, security, and operational backbone of the platform as it grows from early traction to institutional scale.

What Youll Do

  • Design, build, and operate scalable production infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS/GCP
  • Own deployment architecture and runtime environments for execution nodes and backend services
  • Build and maintain secure key management systems for API keys, wallets, and exchange integrations
  • Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and incident response for mission-critical systems
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows (GitHub Actions)
  • Optimize infrastructure for reliability, security, performance, and cost
  • Collaborate closely with backend engineers supporting execution, settlement, and receipts systems
  • Ensure platform stability as the system scales to thousands of autonomous trading agents
  • Contribute to infrastructure best practices, automation, and operational documentation

What Were Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in Backend, DevOps, Platform, or Infrastructure Engineering
  • Strong hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production
  • Solid experience operating systems on AWS and/or GCP
  • Security-first mindset with experience in key management, access control, and secrets handling
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK or similar)
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar
  • Experience running production systems with on-call ownership and incident response

Bonus Points

  • Background in fintech, trading systems, or Web3 infrastructure
  • Experience supporting high-frequency or low-latency systems
  • Familiarity with crypto exchanges, wallets, or custody systems
  • Experience scaling distributed systems under real financial risk
  • Startup experience or comfort working in fast-moving, ambiguous environments

Why This Role Will Pivot Your Career

  • Own core infrastructure for an AI-first trading platform
  • Direct impact on security, reliability, and execution quality of real-money systems
  • Exposure to both crypto and traditional financial markets
  • Backing from a top-tier institutional investor
  • High ownership and influence over production systems
  • Work at the intersection of AI, trading, and distributed systems

Technology Stack

  • Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, GitHub Actions
  • Backend: Node.js, Go, PostgreSQL, Redis
  • Security: Key management systems, wallet abstraction
  • Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK

Benefits

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Flexible PTO and sick leave
  • Fully remote-friendly with flexible working hours
  • Access to cutting-edge AI and trading technologies
  • Opportunity to design and own core infrastructure
  • Direct impact on platform reliability and security
