We are seeking a Hardware / Embedded Engineer – Wearables to design, develop, and optimize low-power wearable devices such as smart glasses, health trackers, and sensor-driven consumer electronics. This role requires deep expertise in embedded hardware, firmware, power optimization, and miniaturized system design, working closely with industrial design, firmware, AI, and manufacturing teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Wearable Hardware Design
  • Design compact, low-power embedded systems for wearable devices
  • Develop schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs for miniaturized form factors
  • Select and integrate MCUs/SoCs, sensors (IMU, bio, optical, environmental), memory, and power components
  • Design and optimize battery management, charging, and power distribution circuits
  • Support prototyping, bring-up, debugging, and validation of wearable hardware
  • Embedded Firmware Development
  • Develop embedded firmware in C/C++ for wearable platforms
  • Write and maintain drivers for sensors, displays, buttons, haptics, cameras, and wireless modules
  • Implement and optimize low-power modes, sleep states, and power-aware scheduling
  • Work with RTOS or embedded Linux environments (FreeRTOS, Zephyr, Embedded Linux preferred)
  • Wireless & Connectivity
  • Integrate and optimize wireless protocols such as Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Wi-Fi, NFC, and UWB
  • Ensure reliable data synchronization with mobile apps, edge devices, and cloud platforms
  • Support OTA firmware updates and secure device communication
  • System Integration & Testing
  • Collaborate with mechanical and industrial design teams on thermal, enclosure, and antenna constraints
  • Perform debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG/SWD
  • Conduct power profiling, RF testing, environmental testing, and reliability validation
  • Support certification and compliance (CE, FCC, Bluetooth SIG, etc.)
  • Manufacturing & Lifecycle Support
  • Work with manufacturing partners on DFM, DFT, and production testing
  • Support EVT, DVT, and PVT stages
  • Investigate field issues and implement firmware or hardware improvements


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in embedded hardware and firmware development, preferably for wearables or consumer electronics
  • Strong experience with low-power MCU/SoC platforms (Nordic, Qualcomm, ESP, STM, NXP, etc.)
  • Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems
  • Experience with BLE and low-power wireless protocols
  • Hands-on experience with hardware debugging and bring-up
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with smart glasses, AR/VR, health wearables, or medical devices
  • Knowledge of sensor fusion, motion tracking, or bio-signal processing
  • Experience integrating AI models on-device or at the edge
  • Familiarity with Android-based or Linux-based wearable platforms
  • Prior experience taking a wearable product from prototype to mass production
