Our client in the public sector is seeking a Cyber Avisory Specialist with expertise in Security Awareness, Policy & Compliance Specialist.
Location: Hybrid 3d Toronto
Duration: 6 months + 6 months extension
Responsibilities
- Support the execution of leadership's cyber vision, and strategy by providing technical and business advisory services
- Define, develop, and support cyber awareness and training programs, engaging stakeholders to build alignment and develop execution roadmaps
- Research and analyze emerging cybersecurity regulations, standards, and best practices to inform organizational policies
- Draft, review, and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and guidelines aligned to industry frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO/IEC 27001)
- Translate technical cybersecurity requirements into clear, actionable policy language for non-technical audiences
- Collaborate with Technology Services, Legal, Compliance, and Operations teams to ensure policies are practical and enforceable
- Monitor policy adoption and implementation, providing recommendations for continuous improvement
- Conduct cybersecurity compliance assessments
- Participate in regular cybersecurity compliance reviews
- Contribute to the development of the Cyber Compliance Program, including IT and OT methodologies and assessment processes
- Assess IT and OT systems, networks, and applications to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and areas for improvement
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst on large, complex initiatives
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
- Minimum 5 years of experience developing Functional Specifications and Use Cases
- Proven experience producing detailed analytical reports and delivering professional presentations
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Extensive experience creating workflows and process documentation
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent certification
- Agile or Scrum certification is considered an asset
