Job Description
As a Senior Software Engineer for Rockwell Automation, you will design industry-leading commercial software known for its innovation and usability.
You will be an important player in compiler subsystem design, implementation, and testing. You will play an active role in all the stages of the development lifecycle and support your team throughout the process. You will also help ensure that developed products meet requirements and are within total quality management standards. You will collaborate with multiple global teams and may also require you to be the technical lead of a small-scale feature or portion of a feature.
We are looking for someone who will use a diverse set of technical backgrounds and opinions by encouraging a team-oriented environment and the use of open and direct communications, and respect. You will also seek knowledge of new developments in the software engineering, computer engineering and will identify and pursue career training opportunities.
Your Responsibilities:
- You have programming skills in C/C++
- You will have Knowledge of compiler theory and techniques
- Knowledge of database management and SQL
- Good code reading skills to infer existing design and algorithms
- Develop new subsystem designs or help exist ones ensuring they meet the established requirements.
- You will Establish a timeline and determine the resources needed to build a design.
- You will Consider tradeoffs between requirements, speed, cost and reliability in the choice of a design approach.
- You will provide progress reports.
- You will Implement and documents code that meets the requirements of the software design, executes
- Experience reviewing code to find and address potential issues and defects unit test plans.
- You will Analyse, debug, and correct anomalies, determines the origin and cause of anomalies identified.
- Lead or help integrate other components by solving problems within subsystems to produce a final product.
- You will Lead reviews of documents, designs, code, test cases and user documentation.
- Responsible for the maintenance and integrity of compiler subsystem.
- You will Build relationships and work with peers to ensure assigned tasks are prioritised.
- You will Take the lead on identifying and recommending software development capability improvements in software development practices, development tools, and test automation.
- You will Think outside the box and be willing to research and explore new avenues by using the latest technologies and standards.
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- You have at least five years of experience in a software product development environment
- Direct experience developing web-based applications using Angular and C#/.NET Core
- Direct experience making C/C++ function call from C#/.NET Core
- Knowledge of programming languages (FBD, LD, ST)
- Direct experience with Agile software development process
- You have Experience with object-oriented design principles and common design patterns
- Knowledge of software secure coding principles and design for security
- You will Apply data structures and algorithms
- Direct experience with the Industrial Automation industry
- Direct experience collaborating with local and global technical development teams.
