The Lazard Data Analytics Group, composed of data scientists, AI engineers, and software engineers, drives innovation by developing advanced AI and data science solutions that enhance decision-making across our financial advisory and asset management business lines. This team ensures Lazard stays at the forefront of a data-driven world, delivering insights that support client engagements and strengthen key partnerships, while keeping the firm competitive and efficient in an evolving financial landscape.
The Data Scientist at Lazard will work within the AI & Data Group in a high-impact role at the intersection of quantitative analysis, applied AI, and finance. We are seeking a highly motivated problem solver who will collaborate with investment bankers, senior management, and engineers across the Firm.

We expect the base salary range for this role to be approximately $110,000 - $140,000 USD. Various factors contribute to determining the actual base compensation offered, including but not limited to the applicant’s years of relevant experience, career tenure, qualifications, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, relevant skills for the role. Base salary is one component of Lazard’s compensation package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and may include incentive compensation.

The Data Scientist at Lazard will work within the AI & Data Group in a high-impact role at the intersection of quantitative analysis, applied AI, and finance. We are seeking a highly motivated problem solver who will collaborate with investment bankers, senior management, and engineers across the Firm.
We’ll trust you to:
- Creating novel quantitative analysis using large-scale structured and unstructured financial data.
- Partnering with investment banking teams to understand workstreams and identify opportunities for quantitative and AI tools.
- Developing AI-powered tools that provide actionable insights and enhance data-driven decision-making.
- Building robust, scalable, and interpretable machine learning models.
- Driving the adoption and integration of AI solutions into core investment banking workstreams.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Quantitative Finance, or related fields.
- Prior work or academic experience in finance.
- Strong programming skills in Python with experience deriving insights from complex and ambiguous datasets.
- Strong fundamentals in statistics, probability, and databases.
- Excellent understanding of machine learning algorithms and concepts.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency with frameworks for large language models (LLMs) such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, and VectorDBs.
- Familiarity with M&A, capital markets, and/or equity research.
- Experience with agentic workflows, RAG systems, and AI/data platforms such as Databricks.
- Experience collaborating using version-control tools such as Git.
- Interest or exposure to deploying tools and models using cloud platforms such as Azure.
