We have an urgent requirement for Senior Project Manager – IT Infrastructure & IT Security (Strong Banking exp is MUST ) is required for one of our banking clients in Oman

Strong experience on Project / Program Management on IT Infrastructure and IT Security projects is THE Must

Strong experience on implementation of IT infrastructure and IT security products and solutions, including technology upgrades, within a banking environment is MUST

Strong experience on Project Governance (PMI + Agile) is MUST

Strong Experience On Banking Domain Is MUST

The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering IT Infrastructure and IT Security projects at Bank Muscat. The role focuses on implementation of infrastructure solutions, IT security products, servers, storage, networking, and technology upgrade initiatives, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, time, cost, and quality while complying with governance and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Delivery

  • Manage end-to-end lifecycle of IT Infrastructure and IT Security projects from initiation to closure, in line with PMI standards.
  • Ensure fulfillment of stakeholder expectations through effective planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure of projects.
  • Prepare and document Project Charters and organize Project Initiation Meetings.
  • Develop comprehensive Project Plans covering scope, schedule, cost, quality, resources, risks, communications, and procurement.
  • Ensure successful delivery of solutions as per approved business requirements, design documents, and acceptance criteria.
  • Manage project change requests through formal Change Management and control processes.
  • Ensure extended lifecycle governance and compliance, while continuously identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Identify, track, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues, with continuous monitoring and escalation as required.
  • Ensure adherence to Bank Muscat governance frameworks, audit requirements, and IT security policies.
  • Interact with Audit and IT Security teams to address compliance, risk, and control requirements.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation for all project deliverables, including traceability matrices.

Testing & Implementation

  • Manage and coordinate all phases of testing including SIT, UAT, Performance Testing, and Security Testing.
  • Plan and execute migration strategies including migration planning, execution, validation, and closure.
  • Ensure readiness for production deployment and smooth handover to operations and support teams.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Conduct contract reviews, vendor negotiations, and finalization of agreements.
  • Manage vendor performance, project deliverables, and resolution of escalated issues.
  • Conduct regular project steering committee meetings and communicate project status to senior management.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Heads, IT Section Heads, PMO, Service, Change, and ARC teams.

Team Leadership & Communication

  • Form project teams in coordination with senior management and ensure clear roles and responsibilities.
  • Set reasonable, challenging, and clear expectations for project teams and provide constructive performance feedback.
  • Promote team building and maintain a motivated, collaborative working environment.
  • Resolve conflicts amicably within projects and programs.
  • Conduct regular project review meetings and ensure effective communication across all stakeholders.

Monitoring, Reporting & Tools

  • Ensure regular and accurate project status reporting.
  • Define, collect, and analyze project metrics to measure progress, quality, and deliverable acceptance.
  • Document Project Progress Reports and update Project Dashboards.
  • Manage the overall work plan to ensure tasks are assigned, tracked, and completed on time and within budget.
  • Use appropriate project management tools to effectively manage projects and programs.
  • Conduct Project Closure Meetings and ensure formal project closure documentation.

Capability Development

  • Participate in developing Project Management skills within the organization for staff interested in project management.
  • Stay updated with latest technologies, tools, and industry best practices relevant to IT Infrastructure and IT Security.
