Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated Junior WordPress Developer to join our in-house tech team at House of EdTech. You will work on high-traffic WordPress websites across multiple brands, supporting development using Elementor and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF).
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building real-world products, learning at scale, and growing into a strong WordPress developer within a fast-paced EdTech environment.
Key Responsibilities
WordPress Development (Elementor & ACF)
- Build and maintain WordPress websites for House of EdTech brands
- Create and update landing pages using Elementor
- Use Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) to create dynamic and reusable sections
- Support theme and plugin customization under senior developer guidance
- Fix UI, layout, and responsiveness issues across devices
- Assist in integrating external APIs (REST / JSON) into WordPress
- Display API-driven data on WordPress pages with guidance
- Debug basic API issues such as broken responses, formatting, or authentication errors
- Assist with website migrations and deployments
- Take regular backups and support restoration when required
- Update WordPress core, plugins, and themes
- Monitor basic website performance and uptime
- Support implementation of basic security best practices (SSL, plugin updates, etc.)
- Work closely with designers to accurately implement UI/UX designs
- Collaborate with senior developers for reviews and improvements
- Maintain basic documentation for changes, fixes, and releases
- Use Git and follow standard development workflows
- Basic understanding of WordPress (themes, plugins, admin panel)
- Hands-on experience with Elementor
- Exposure to Advanced Custom Fields (ACF)
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript
- Basic understanding of PHP (good to have)
- Familiarity with REST APIs and JSON concepts (beginner level acceptable)
- Willingness to learn scalable WordPress and server best practices
- Live WordPress projects (personal, freelance, or internship work)
- Basic WooCommerce knowledge
- Familiarity with PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, or similar tools
- Exposure to hosting panels (cPanel, Plesk) or cloud hosting basics
- Awareness of WP-CLI
- Work on high-scale EdTech platforms used by millions of learners
- Hands-on mentorship from experienced developers
- Fast learning curve in WordPress, APIs, and performance optimization
- Clear growth path into mid-level and senior WordPress roles
