Over 30 years, we've grown from humble beginnings (founded 1995) to a global digital lottery technology leader (ASX: JIN), operating in Australia, the UK, Canada and the USA. We partner with thousands of good causes worldwide, helping raise over $290M in FY25 alone. Innovation is at the heart of everything we do.

Our Growth – And It's By Design

Following a series of significant client wins and the expansion of our business through international acquisitions, we're in an exciting phase of growth. To support this momentum, we're scaling our engineering capability and building out our teams to meet increasing demand across our platforms and products.

This growth is driven by a deliberate investment ahead of demand as we support a larger, more complex, and increasingly global business. We're expanding our teams to continue delivering high-quality, scalable solutions.

For engineers joining us, this is a chance to work on meaningful problems at scale—from supporting new clients and markets, to integrating and evolving acquired platforms, to helping shape how our platform will grow over time. You'll be joining a business with real momentum, plenty of opportunity to make an impact, and the chance to grow alongside it.

What will you be doing?

You'll play a key role in designing, developing, and optimising native Android applications that power engaging lottery and fundraising experiences. You'll work across the full mobile app lifecycle – from shaping solutions and building new features, through to testing, release, and ongoing improvements – always with a focus on intuitive, high‑performance user experiences that align with Android platform guidelines and leverage device capabilities.

You’ll collaborate closely with other engineers, quality specialists, and product managers to deliver reliable, scalable apps that support our global partners and their vital causes. Depending on your experience, you’ll take ownership of features or projects, contribute to architectural decisions, and have opportunities to mentor more junior developers as we evolve and grow our mobile platforms.

What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality native mobile applications that deliver intuitive, high-performance user experiences
  • Implement new features end-to-end, from technical design through to release, ensuring they align with platform-specific guidelines and leverage device capabilities
  • Optimise existing mobile applications for performance, scalability, and reliability
  • Participate in meaningful code reviews, testing activities, and quality practices to ensure robust and maintainable code
  • Collaborate closely with other Software Engineers, Quality Assistance Analysts, and Product Managers to refine requirements and deliver value to our customers and partners
  • Estimate, prioritise, and manage your work effectively so deliverables are completed to a high standard within agreed timelines
  • Produce clear, concise technical documentation to support ongoing development and maintenance
  • Depending on your experience level, mentor and support less experienced engineers, sharing best practices and contributing to technical decisions and architecture discussions

What You’ll Be Able to Bring to the Role

  • Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining native Android applications using the Android SDK and related tools
  • Proficiency in Kotlin and Java, with strong knowledge of the Android SDK and the challenges of supporting various Android devices and versions
  • Understanding of Android UI development, including both traditional Views and Jetpack Compose
  • Solid understanding of mobile UX best practices and platform design guidelines, with a focus on intuitive, high-performance user experiences
  • Competent programming skills in languages and frameworks relevant to mobile development, plus a willingness to work across multiple technologies and tools
  • Proven experience with RESTful APIs and integration with back-end services
  • Proven experience with Git or other version control systems, including conducting and participating in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices
  • Proficiency in working within a Mac/Linux development environment
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset, able to balance technical details with broader product and project objectives
  • Time management, including the ability to prioritise work, estimate effort accurately, and deliver to agreed timelines
  • Clear, confident communication skills, comfortable working with engineers, QA, product managers, and other stakeholders
  • A collaborative approach and enjoyment of working in a team environment, while still being able to work independently when required
  • For more experienced candidates, the ability and desire to mentor junior engineers, share best practices, and contribute to technical direction
