Profectus is seeking Expressions of Interest from experienced AWS cloud professionals who have delivered solutions within the Australian public sector and/or security-cleared environments, including Defence, national security, and critical infrastructure domains.

Our clients operate in highly regulated, security-conscious environments where cloud platforms are used to enable secure digital transformation, modern service delivery, and operational resilience. Opportunities may span architecture, engineering, security, platform operations, and service delivery across classified and high-assurance AWS environments.

Areas of experience and contribution may include

We are interested in professionals with experience across one or more of the following AWS-aligned specialisations:

• AWS Cloud Architects – secure solution design, multi-account strategies, landing zones, and cloud adoption frameworks
• DevOps / Automation Engineers – infrastructure as code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment patterns
• Cloud Security Specialists – secure cloud operations, monitoring, and enforcement of security controls
• Platform / Infrastructure Engineers – compute, storage, networking, and hybrid cloud connectivity
• Data & Integration Engineers – serverless services, data pipelines, APIs, and secure data integration
• Service Delivery & Support Specialists – ITIL-aligned operations, patching, incident response, and continuous improvement in AWS environments

Key skills and experience of interest

Cloud architecture and implementation

• Designing, deploying, and supporting secure AWS environments, including multi-account and hybrid architectures
• Experience aligning cloud solutions to public sector or Defence cloud hosting and certification frameworks

Security and compliance

• Implementing security controls aligned with ISM, PSPF, and Essential Eight requirements
• Experience using AWS native security services such as GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, KMS, Config, and Inspector

Automation and infrastructure as code

• Proficiency with Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools
• Automation and scripting using Bash, Python, PowerShell, or equivalent

DevOps and delivery practices

• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as CodePipeline, GitLab, Jenkins, or equivalent
• Supporting secure, repeatable deployments across multiple environments

Networking, monitoring, and optimisation

• Designing and configuring VPCs, Transit Gateway, VPN, Direct Connect, PrivateLink, and hybrid connectivity
• Monitoring operational health, security events, and cost optimisation using AWS tooling

Documentation, governance, and service management

• Developing technical documentation, HLDs/LLDs, SOPs, and configuration baselines
• Applying ITIL-aligned service management practices in regulated or cleared environments
• Engaging effectively with stakeholders across ICT, cyber security, and delivery teams

Qualifications and certifications (highly regarded)

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
• AWS Certified Security – Specialty
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator – Associate
• CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or equivalent (advantageous)
• ITIL v3/v4 Foundation
• Cross-cloud experience or certifications (e.g. Azure, VMware)
