As our Embedded SW Trainee, you'll immediately become a valued part of the Connectivity team. In this role, you'll support different IoT connectivity tasks like networking, EDGE computing, data inspection, testing and collaborate with the Digital Solutions team to gain hands-on experience in IoT. You'll contribute directly to meaningful projects and see the impact of your work.

This is a fixed-term position, located in Tampere. The trainee period typically runs from 4.5.2026 to 31.8.2026, with exact timing to be mutually agreed upon with your manager.

What Are Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support & Assist: Execute day-to-day tasks/activities, or team initiatives relevant to the department, processes or key systems.
  • Collaborate & Coordinate: Proactively communicate and participate in different tasks across teams/projects.
  • Learning & Development: Actively apply and acquire specific technical skills, methodologies, or knowledge.
  • Analysis & Improvement: Analyze and inspect data/reports, and contribute to improvements in specific processes or outcomes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities and propose/implement solutions to enhance, e.g., team efficiency, documentation quality and system performance.

What You Bring To The Role

  • Academic Background in Software Engineering or Related Field: You are currently pursuing or have completed B.Sc. or M.Sc. studies (+2 years) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent field, and are eager to apply your academic knowledge in a practical, hands-on environment.
  • Early Exposure & Curiosity: Previous experience from similar roles, internships, student projects, or volunteer work is considered an advantage, but not required - your motivation, curiosity, and willingness to learn matter most.
  • Proactive & Learning-Oriented Mindset: You bring a positive, can-do attitude and enjoy developing your skills in a dynamic, international digital environment.
  • Technical & Analytical Competencies: You have proficiency or practical knowledge in programming languages such as Python or C++, Google tools, basic Linux terminal skills, AWS IoT, and SQL. You are enthusiastic about learning new tools, methods, or technologies relevant to digital connections.
  • Communication & Teamwork Skills: You communicate confidently in Finnish and English, work effectively in teams, and approach problem-solving with creativity and collaboration.
