We are seeking an Electrical Engineer for our Grinding Delivery team.

The Electrical Engineer will be part of the Grinding Delivery team within the Minerals BA. This role focuses on electrical design and project documentation for grinding equipment and associated systems. The position involves collaboration with a global team of engineers and designers to ensure high-quality electrical solutions for customer projects worldwide. Your expertise in electrical design, control systems, and safety compliance will be key to achieving project goals.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare project deliverables such as:
    • Single-line diagrams, P&IDs, instrument lists, I/O lists, electrical load lists, and functional descriptions.
  • Review customer specifications and develop electrical designs for grinding equipment, including but not limited to:
    • Wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, control & instrumentation diagrams, and component specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards and regulations and incorporate safety thinking into every stage of design, including risk assessment and mitigation for electrical hazards.
  • Develop PLC logic and programming; design motor controls and control panels.
  • Ensure compliance with Metso standards and customer requirements.
  • Global collaboration with internal teams and external partners to ensure accurate and timely project execution.
  • Coordination of outsourced electrical design work.
  • Support proposal and sales teams with technical input and cost estimation.
  • Participate in supplier testing, customer meetings, and provide technical support during project execution.
  • Travel (up to 20%) for installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal teams, customers, and vendors.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and standardization of electrical engineering practices.
  • Keep up with industry developments, standards, and best practices in electrical engineering and safety compliance.
Who You Are

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Electromechanical Engineering Technology.

Experience

  • Preferred: Experience with OEM serving mining or heavy equipment industries.
  • Minimum three(3) years' experience in a similar electrical engineering role.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of electrical design principles and control theory.
  • Strong familiarity with EPLAN (preferred), AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and PLM system(s)
  • Knowledge of Rockwell and Siemens PLC software and PLC programming experience is a plus.

Soft Skills

  • Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a global team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
