Overview
Azure Batch is seeking Senior Software Engineers to join our growing Dublin team. Azure Batch powers some of the world’s most robust large-scale compute workloads, enabling organizations to run millions of jobs in parallel and supporting High-Performance Computing workloads across industries including Artificial Intelligence, genomics, and climate modeling. With increasing demand for large-scale High-Performance Computing and Artificial Intelligence services, we are building the next generation of solutions to deliver seamless access to cutting-edge compute, networking, and storage resources.
Azure Batch processes billions of tasks every month, supporting global enterprises and research institutions as they tackle their most intensive data and computation challenges. Our service is trusted by customers around the world to power workloads ranging from accelerated drug discovery to the next breakthrough in Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models.
In addition to traditional High-Performance Computing scenarios, Azure Batch also powers Artificial Intelligence workloads, serving as the backbone for many of Microsoft’s most advanced Artificial Intelligence products and services. By enabling vast parallelization and dynamic resource allocation, Azure Batch accelerates machine learning training, model inference, and large-scale data analysis, helping teams unlock new possibilities in Artificial Intelligence research and deployment.

Responsibilities
- Lead design, implementation, test, deployment, maintenance and support of complex product features spanning multiple service components.
- Lead by example within the team by producing extensible, maintainable, reusable and testable code.
- Lead technical reviews to assure the product meets Microsoft's quality, security and compliance standards.
- Participate in on-call rotations and postmortem reviews to improve service resilience.
- Lead efforts to reduce incident volume and improve time to detection and time to mitigation.
- Lead architectural discussions and contribute to solution design with minimal oversight.
- Promote automation in production and deployment processes.
- Maintain strong communication with partner teams to align on goals and user experience.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to manage project plans and guide task estimation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
- OR related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript,
- OR Python
- OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
- OR equivalent experience.
