Your new company
Our client is a dynamic, family-owned business in the retail/distribution industry. They are leaders in their industry and are continually growing and acquiring new business. As they continue to invest in the future, they are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join their senior leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy.
Your new role
As Financial Controller, you will lead the finance function and drive operational excellence across all accounting processes. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will:
- Manage accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable/payable, general ledger, cost accounting, inventory, and revenue recognition.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements and management accounts.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and maintain robust internal controls.
- Lead transformation projects within the finance department, leveraging technology and data analytics to enhance efficiency.
- Manage cash flow, debt collection, and credit control, while maintaining strong relationships with banks, auditors, and external partners.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
This is a strategic leadership role where you will influence company-wide decisions and contribute to long-term growth.
What you'll need to succeed
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualifications.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior finance management role, ideally within a similar sector.
- Strong commercial acumen and proven ability to implement business strategy.
- Excellent leadership skills and the ability to manage transformation projects.
- Must have full working rights and be based in Ireland - no sponsorship provided.
