PURCHASING SPECIALIST

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Specialist to join our procurement team. This role is focused on the acquisition of aviation and optronics-related components and materials, supporting the company’s advanced manufacturing processes. Each Purchasing Specialist is assigned a specific niche within the supply chain and is expected to develop deep expertise in that area, build strong supplier relationships, and contribute to the company’s competitive advantage through strategic sourcing.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers within a defined niche.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the assigned supplier market and share insights with internal stakeholders.
  • Manage procurement of metal raw materials and CNC-machined parts, and subcontract metal processing companies.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders in accordance with technical and operational requirements.
  • Ensure timely order confirmations and supplier delivery schedules adherence to agreed terms and specifications.
  • Monitor supplier delivery schedules and ensure timely and accurate receipt of goods.
  • Proactively resolve any issues related to delays, quality, or compliance.
  • Analyze inventory levels and collaborate with engineering, production, and planning teams to forecast demand.
  • Ensure optimal inventory turnover and availability of critical components.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including contracts, invoices, delivery notes and other documentation like certificates of origin and certificates of compliance.
  • Coordinate with finance and other departments to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Continuously assess procurement processes to identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and risk mitigation.
  • Contribute to the development of procurement strategies that enhance the company’s market competitiveness.

Qualifications

  • University degree in logistics, business administration, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in CNC metal processing with a focus on the metalworking niche and strong interest in aviation, electronics, or high-tech manufacturing sectors.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Ability to analyze inventory levels and forecast procurement needs.
  • Proficient in relevant procurement and inventory management software.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, Dynamics 365 and MonitorERP.
  • Fluency in Latvian and English is required.
  • Experience working in an international and multicultural environment is highly desirable.
