Data Engineer
We are looking for someone who is passionate about rigging data to scale it for maximum impact on insights and AI, compliance, customer journeys and innovation. This is a unique opportunity to join a digital journey in one of the Nordics' most exciting mobility companies.
Based in Riga, the role is essential for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and secure data pipelines and structures that help solve business problems in analytics, product development, and operational insights across MMG. You will work in a competent, interdisciplinary team with employees and consultants from Norway and the Baltics and collaborate with business.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Develop and maintain scalable, resilient data pipelines
- Integrate data from internal and external sources
- Participate in API development and data exposure
- Contribute to the architecture and development of our Azure-based cloud data platform
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and solution/integration engineers
- Ensure data availability, quality, and performance
- Document data models, pipelines, and source integrations
- Support compliance efforts (GDPR), metadata management, and MDM initiatives
- Work agile and adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs
Qualifications:
- Strong experience with SQL and relational databases (and/or NoSQL)
- Solid knowledge of programming languages, especially .NET/C#
- Experience with Azure or similar cloud platforms (Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric)
- Experience with API development and integration
- Experience with data modelling (from conceptual to physical levels)
- Good understanding of version control, CI/CD, and DevOps (Terraform, Argo, Kubernetes)
- Familiarity with MDM principles, data privacy (GDPR) and metadata management
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Informatica PowerCenter, DBT)
- Familiarity with agile frameworks such as SAFe
- Excellent Latvian and English language skills, both written and spoken
