Become Our New Software System Tester!

Objectives of the position:

The Software System Tester ensures the quality and reliability of software systems by designing and executing test plans, identifying defects, and collaborating with development teams to resolve issues. This role is critical in maintaining high standards for system functionality, performance, security and user experience. The Software System Tester is able to draw up functional and system requirements that serve as the basis for designing the appropriate test strategy.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Test strategy, design and execution: Create and implement test plans and test cases to evaluate software functionality, performance and security;
• Bug identification and tracking: Systematically identify, document and track defects using a bug tracking system and work with developers to resolve them;
• Functional testing: Validating features, user interactions, and system behavior to ensure each function delivers the expected output. For example unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing;
• Non-functional testing: Evaluating how the software performs under various conditions, focusing on aspects like performance, scalability, security, and usability. For example performance testing, load testing, stress testing, and security testing;
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers and other stakeholders to understand requirements and provide feedback throughout the development lifecycle;
• Automation: Develop and maintain automated test scripts to improve efficiency and speed up repetitive testing tasks;
• Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on test results and bug status to the project team;
• Quality assurance: Ensure the software meets all requirements and quality standards before it is released to production and/or end-users.
• Professional Qualification:
• Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
• Experience in software testing or quality assurance within a structured development environment;
• Proven experience with testing tools such as JIRA or equivalent. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Software Development LifeCycle (SDLC);
• Experience with automated testing and scripting;
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal;
• Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, C/C++/C#;);
• ISTQB certification or equivalent is preferred.

A Software System Tester needs a personality and behavior that is curious, detail-oriented, and analytical, combined with strong problem-solving and communication skills to effectively identify, document and report bugs. He/she should also be persistent, adaptable, and have a user-focused mindset to ensure a high-quality end product. He/she needs to be a self-starter and work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment with other departments and development partners. It is in your DNA to be eager to learn and stay up to date regarding software testing techniques and tools.
