WEBB Traders is looking for a final-year student to join our Core SWE Team. The responsibility of the Core team is twofold:
- build, maintain and improve the data systems powering all workflows within the organization, from research to production;
- create outstanding tools and processes to support our control teams, unlock deep insights into our activity, and ultimately ensure the safety and efficiency of our operation.
- Learning about the trading domain through training sessions and on-the-job interactions
- Developing and optimising software solutions within various areas of the business: risk management, quantitative research, big data pipelines, etc.
- Using a wide set of technologies such as Python, C++, Typescript and PostgreSQL to solve concrete problems with immediate return on investment
- Actively collaborating, exchanging ideas and sharing knowledge with your team
- Interacting with users to understand their objectives and improve their work through your technical ingenuity
- Eager, curious, and a fast learner
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or related
- Available full-time (for 3-6 months)
- Strong computer science & database fundamentals
- Good understanding of systems architecture and networking basics
- Hands-on experience with Python and modern C++
- 0 to 2 years of experience in a software engineering role
- Team player who thrives in an agile and fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills with a ‘get it done mentality
- Experience with web development is a big plus
