Full-timeEngineering

WISeKey is a leading global cybersecurity company deploying large-scale digital identity ecosystems for people and connected objects using Blockchain, AI, and IoT–always placing humans at the center of the Internet. WISeKey microprocessors secure the pervasive computing that shapes today’s Internet of Everything.

With over 1.5 billion IoT microchips deployed across connected vehicles, smart cities, drones, agricultural sensors, anti-counterfeiting, smart lighting, servers, computers, mobile devices, and crypto tokens, WISeKey is a key security enabler across the IoT landscape.

WISeSat AG, a WISeKey company, is developing a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) constellation that delivers secure messaging services across Switzerland and Europe, leveraging proprietary post-quantum encryption. We are building a full end-to-end system with selected industry partners, supported by a growing team of specialists driving the next wave of secure space-enabled IoT.

Joining WISeSat AG means stepping into a fast-moving environment where your expertise directly shapes an operational service. You will work at the intersection of engineering, cybersecurity, and advanced IoT technologies, collaborating closely with industry partners and a highly focused international team.

Join a small, high-impact group where your decisions matter. You’ll follow our next-generation satellites from design through launch and operations–challenging, rewarding, and genuinely innovative.

Role Overview

We’re seeking a Radiofrequency Engineer to design, build, and optimize the RF links that power our constellation–covering satellite-to-ground, satellite-to-user, and inter-satellite connections.

You will work across the full lifecycle, from architecture and design to integration, validation, launch support, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own RF system design for space and ground segments to ensure reliable, high-performance links in LEO.
  • Perform link budgets, interference analyses, and end-to-end performance simulations; optimize for bandwidth, latency, and availability targets.
  • Define and validate payload RF requirements; contribute to hardware selection and architecture (antennas, LNAs/HPAs, filters, converters, transceivers).
  • Manage and technically steer selected industrial partners and suppliers; track deliverables and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with international spectrum regulations and support frequency coordination activities.
  • Collaborate closely with Telecom, Systems, and Software teams to align RF designs with mission objectives and constraints.
  • Document designs, test plans, and results; contribute to design reviews and operational readiness.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in RF design and testing for satellites or comparable wireless systems.
  • Master’s degree in RF, Telecommunications, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong grasp of LEO-specific RF challenges.
  • Familiarity with spectrum regulation and frequency coordination for satellite communications.
  • System-level thinking: telecom architecture for constellations (e.g., band selection such as S-/L-band, payload configurations, and inter-satellite link concepts - optical or RF).
  • Ability to lead simulations and modeling of signal propagation, interference, and system performance.
  • Clear communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and meticulous attention to detail; comfortable working with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Working proficiency in English; French is a plus.
