Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or SUSE) across production, DR, DevOps and Stagging environments.
- Perform system administration tasks, including patching, performance tuning, log management, and troubleshooting.
- Manage VMware or physical server environments, ensuring system availability and capacity planning.
- Participate in infrastructure lifecycle management, including system upgrades, migrations, and hardware refreshes.
- Support backup, restore, and disaster recovery operations and periodic DR exercises.
- Implement OS hardening, security compliance, and access control based on corporate policies.
- Maintain monitoring, alerting, and reporting for system performance and uptime using enterprise tools (e.g., Grafana, Solarwinds).
- Create and maintain technical documentation, system inventories, and change records.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal infrastructure performance.
- Provide support during scheduled maintenance windows and participate in standby support for critical infrastructure incidents.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
- 3 -5 years of solid experience in Linux infrastructure administration in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience with RHEL/CentOS and VMware virtualization.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure components networking, DNS, NTP, storage, and backup.
- Familiarity with hardware platforms (Dell, HP, IBM) and firmware management.
- Experience with system patching and configuration management tools (YUM, DNF, Ansible, Puppet).
- Good understanding of monitoring and alerting systems.
- Knowledge of shell scripting or automation (Bash, Python).
- Familiarity with change management and ITIL-based operational procedures.
Good to Have
- Experience with DR site operations and failover planning.
- Knowledge of containerization (Podman).
- Exposure to backup and restore tools (Veeam, NetBackup, CommVault etc).
- Relevant certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, Linux+, or VMware VCP.
