A FTSE 100 organisation has retained Invecta to support them in their search for a Director of Technology. The role reports directly to the Chief Data & Technology Officer in a key 'number two' tech leadership role for the business.

The successful person will design and deliver the enterprise-wide technology strategy for the organisation, while also supporting the development (and leadership) of the internal technology team including; enterprise architecture, innovation and product teams.

You will have designed, led and built technology strategy from the ground up, and shaped meaningful conversations at the C-suite level. The role will be critical to this global firm's technology strategy, overall operations and future direction, leading key initiatives around data, AI, product delivery, technology modernisation, and everything in between.

What you’ll be doing:

• Shaping and owning the enterprise technology strategy globally
• Managing and evolving technology teams including Architecture, Innovation, Engineering (outsourced) and Product
• Translating market signals and emerging tech into clear, board-level recommendations
• Leading architecture governance and influencing major investment decisions
• Partnering across business, data, innovation and tech to align strategy and execution

What we’re looking for:

• Deep experience in enterprise architecture and overall technology operations at a senior level
• A background in Enterprise Architecture with more recent experience overseeing wider technology operations e.g. engineering, product, innovation.
• Consulting pedigree or exposure to complex, matrixed environments
• Comfortable operating at the intersection of innovation, business, and delivery
• Excellent written and verbal communication – you’ll be presenting to the board regularly
• A clear track record of building strategies that drive tangible business outcomes
• Experience across product development and delivery of CRM & Mobile Apps would be highly advantageous.
