I’m currently working with a client who is building out their Android function and looking to bring in a Lead Android Engineer as a foundational hire.

This has potential to be a long term project, where you’ll take ownership of the Android platform - combining hands-on development with technical leadership. You will be responsible to hire numerous engineers within a short time frame.

🔧 The role

As the Lead Android Engineer, you will:

• Set the technical direction for Android development
• Ensure delivery milestones are met
• Define engineering standards and best practices
• Conduct technical interviews & build the Android team.
• Work closely with product and design teams

• Kotlin
• Jetpack Compose

💰 Contract details

• Rate: £450 per day
• Engagement: Contract (Outside of IR-35)

This role suits an experienced Android engineer who enjoys owning a platform, mentoring others, and helping build a mobile function from the ground up.
