Junior Information Security Analyst
With: Leading UK Charity
Location: UK-based | Remote
Type: Inside IR35 via an umbrella company
Rate: £23.78 per hour
Duration: Initial 3-month contract
Hours: 35 hours per week (9–5)
Start date: ASAP
A leading UK charity is looking for a Junior Information Security Analyst to provide hands-on support across day-to-day security operations and incident response.
Working as part of a small InfoSec function, you’ll support Technology teams, Information Governance/DPO and external security partners to help protect people, data and services in a regulated, mission-led environment.
What you’ll be doing
- Supporting day-to-day information security operations and security checks
- Assisting with incident response, evidence gathering and follow-up actions
- Helping track vulnerabilities, remediation and secure configuration baselines
- Supporting identity and access management (joiners, movers, leavers, access reviews)
- Assisting with supplier security due diligence and onboarding
- Supporting phishing simulations, security awareness activity and staff guidance
- Maintaining assurance records, evidence logs and basic security metrics
- Updating runbooks and supporting small process improvements
What they’re looking for
- Experience in an InfoSec or IT operations role (e.g. service desk, cloud, infrastructure)
- Good understanding of core security principles (least privilege, secure configuration, incident handling)
- Exposure to cloud and SaaS environments
- Strong attention to detail and good documentation skills
- Confident communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Working towards or holding a relevant qualification (e.g. Security+, SSCP, Network+)
Nice to have
- Experience in a charity, public sector or regulated environment
- Familiarity with common security or control frameworks
