DESCRIPTION OF THE TASKS
Following tasks will be performed by external service provider:
- Definition of test plans and test cases
- Construction of test scenarios and scripts
- Execution of tests
- Test coordination
- Reporting of test results
- Design, prepare and perform end-to-end tests (mixing automated and manual tests).
- Design, prepare and perform system integration testing (mixing automated and manual tests).
- Investigate bugs to find root causes in a complex web of applications, test and validate bug fixes.
- Interaction with the business analysts, customer, users, project leaders and the developers
- LEVEL OF EDUCATION
- As stated in the Article 2.6.3.1. of DIGIT-TM II Service requirements, a minimum educational qualification for lot 1 is: Level of education corresponding to Level 6 of the European Qualification Framework which typically corresponds to a bachelor’s level or 3 years of higher education.
- KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Following skills and knowledge are required for the performance of the above listed tasks:
- Strong experience with testing technologies, tools and techniques.
- Hands-on experience of manual Testing.
- Experience with Test Management Tools, notably Zephyr.
- Experience with Defect Tracking tools, notably Jira.
- Experience in test data management and SQL database operations (e.g. Oracle)
- Experience with agile methodology (Scrum)
- Experience with System Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing
- Experience with Business Process Modelling
- Rapid self-starting and self-learning capability
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
- Proven capability to effectively collaborate with business as well as technical colleagues.
- Capability to write clear and structured technical documents
- Excellent critical thinker, by using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.
- Ability to promote and apply high quality standards.
- Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application developments.
- Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:
- Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team;
- Ability to participate in multilingual meetings;
- Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects;
- Excellent Team Player
- High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained in EMPL.A.4 contain personal and confidential data
- SPECIFIC EXPERTISE
- Following specific expertise is mandatory for the performance of tasks:
- Knowledge of testing technologies, tools and techniques.
- Hands-on experience in the manual Testing.
- Knowledge of a Test Management Tool.
- Knowledge of a Defect Tracking tool.
- Experience in the test data preparation, preferably with SQL databases.
- CERTIFICATIONS & STANDARDS
- Optional certification : ISTQB certification or equivalent.
