Frontend Developer

We’re working with a leading global technology organisation in the financial services space that is looking for a UI-focused Principal Software Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering team in Galway. This role places a strong emphasis on frontend development, with Angular at its core.

What you’ll be doing

• Acting as a UI technical lead, owning frontend design and implementation
• Building and maintaining modern, scalable Angular applications
• Driving frontend best practices, code quality, and UI standards
• Collaborating closely with product owners, designers, and backend engineers
• Mentoring engineers and leading by example through code reviews and technical guidance
• Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and overall engineering excellence

What we’re looking for

• 10+ years of software development experience overall
• 5+ years of strong, hands-on Angular experience (essential)
• Proven experience designing and delivering complex UI applications
• Experience working in full-stack environments, with exposure to:
• Java / REST APIs (integration level)
• AWS and cloud-based environments
• CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum ways of working
• Excellent communication skills and experience working at Principal or Tech Lead level

Nice to have

• Previous experience in financial services or regulated environments
• Exposure to modern DevOps and cloud-native architectures
