Digital Support Specialist

PORTWEST, a leading global manufacturer of safety wear, workwear and PPE is currently seeking applications for the position of Digital Support Specialist in Westport on a full-time permanent basis reporting to the Digital Services Engineering Manager. Job Summary

• Provide technical support for our PHP-based customer eCommerce solution.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues reported by customers and colleagues.
• Collaborate with the development team to escalate and resolve complex problems.
• Assist customers with inquiries related to system functionality, configuration, and integrations.
• Document solutions, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides for internal and customer use.
  
  

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve support tickets in a timely and professional manner.
• Monitor system performance and proactively address incidents.
• Identify recurring issues and suggest improvements to enhance the platform.
• Provide training or guidance to customers on effectively using the eCommerce solution.
• Ensure excellent communication and customer satisfaction throughout the support process.
  
  

Requirements

• Good knowledge of PHP/Laravel and experience with web-based applications.
• Familiarity with eCommerce platforms and related technologies
• Basic understanding of databases (e.g., MySQL) and troubleshooting SQL queries.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with customers.
• Experience in a technical support role or similar customer-facing position.
  
  

Preferred Skills

• Familiarity with Codeigniter, Laravel or other PHP frameworks.
• Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Understanding of server management, hosting environments, or basic DevOps.
• Experience with support ticket systems
