Business Intelligence Manager


to lead our BI team. This leader will be responsible for defining how we provide the business community with analysis and insights to govern the Fortidia network, and partner with senior management to drive strategic decision-making through advanced analytics with specific reference to Shipping and Carriers performance. The BI Manager will oversee a team of two BI Analysts and act as the primary interface for the business functions (Sales, Operations, Marketing) to ensure we turn data into business answers while keeping full accountability for KPIs, performance tracking, and storytelling. Main geographies of responsibilities include: Italy, Germany, France, the UK and Poland.

The Fortidia Business Intelligence Manager will report to the Data and Carriers Relationships Director.


Main Tasks and Responsibilities


  • Business Performance & Governance: Provide key business stakeholders with analysis and insights to effectively monitor, manage, and govern the Fortidia network, leveraging advanced analytics and AI applications where possible to enhance and automate business estimates and forecasts.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and oversee a team of two BI Analysts, ensuring high-quality output while supporting multiple countries via the centralized team in Milan.
  • Strategic Advisory: Act as a strategic partner to senior management, delivering qualitative and quantitative analysis to support decision-making in Global and Local Carriers negotiations or selected strategic and transformation projects.
  • Reporting and Dashboarding: Partner with the Data & Reporting team to ensure the delivery of standard advanced dashboards to monitor Network profitability and performance on a recurring basis at Fortidia level.
  • Pricing & Profitability monitoring: Work closely with Network Sales & Operations and Pricing & Revenue Management teams to support data-driven pricing decisions, rate comparisons, competitive price list definition, and profitability optimization initiatives across the Network.


Requirements


  • Experience: At least 5 years of professional experience acquired in strategic consulting environments or in Business Intelligence and Analytics roles, including at least 2 years in a management or lead position.
  • Education: Bachelor degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Data Science.
  • Strategic Mindset: Proven ability to translate complex data into high-level business strategies.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong people-management skills with a "people-driven" attitude and the ability to nurture team spirit and work ethic.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of SQL, MS Excel, and BI visualization tools (e.g., Qlik, PowerBI, or Google Looker Studio).
  • Communication: Excellent ability to interact with senior stakeholders and multi-cultural teams; prior international exposure is highly valued.
  • Languages: Excellent mastery of written and spoken English; proficiency in Spanish, French, or German is a significant advantage.
