Role overview

We are looking for a Full stack Developer to help us deliver AI products used for qualitative research. We are a small team looking to drive change in how qualitative research is conducted, incorporating new technologies and AI into Ipsos’s suite of services.

We are a small team who value initiative, technical expertise and a keen eye for product. This role requires you to own technical decisions and execute them within the complex network of Ipsos’s existing technological infrastructure and solutions.

Our tech stack includes: React, TypeScript, Kotlin, GCP, Terraform, PostgreSQL

Responsibilities:

• You will work closely with the engineering team, driving development of our customer-facing web application.
• You will suggest and implement engineering solutions, allowing us to improve the platform and build new functionality.
• You will be responsible for writing and maintaining high-quality production code and shipping entire features.
• You will help define the product architecture all the way from the technologies we use to the design principles that we apply.
• Be an active participant in roadmap discussions, helping us evolve our products as our team grows.

Requirements:

• 5+ years professional experience developing as a full-stack engineer, with experience building production-ready web apps
• Experience of frontend frameworks such as React and a strong grasp on TypeScript
• Experience developing backends in a production setting
• Exposure to web security best practices
• Experience working with relational database technologies
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure)
• The ability to work effectively in a remote environment with teammates across time zones
• Product-mindset, and is motivated to build products that help our users

Desirable, but not essential:

• Experience working with large language models from providers like OpenAI, Anthropic
• A love of crafting beautiful software (aesthetic or otherwise)
• Experience working with infrastructure-as-code with Terraform
• Experience in the full life cycle of development, from requirements gathering, building greenfield projects and iterating on existing projects

Selection process

• We aim to make the interview process as enjoyable as possible, and successful candidates will go through a simple 3-step process:
• If your profile fits this role, you’ll be invited to a quick call with our hiring lead so you can learn more about the role, and we can get to know you better (30 mins)
• Following that, there will be a session with the two engineers to go through technical questions, and work through a technical challenge together (90 mins)
• Finally, there will be a third session to focus on cultural interview where we explore your motivations to join our team, learn why you’d be a great fit, and answer questions about us.

After the final interview, we aim to let you know our decision as soon as possible.
