Why is the job exciting?
As a DevOps Engineer, you will be part of the team that creates and implements various applications/modules based on Oracle technologies for the Banking Software area. Your position implies that you own and drive diverse and complex assignments through all stages from inception to delivery, with a high level of quality and within project or tasks timelines.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains mission-critical information extraction, analysis, and management systems.
- Provides direct and responsive support for urgent analytic needs.
- Participates in architecture and software development activities.
- Translates loosely defined requirements into solutions.
- Uses open source technologies and tools to accomplish specific use cases encountered within the project.
- Uses coding languages or scripting methodologies to solve a problem with a custom workflow.
- Collaborates with others on the project to brainstorm about the best way to tackle a complex technological infrastructure, security, or development problem.
- Performs incremental testing actions on code, processes, and deployments to identify ways to streamline execution and minimize errors encountered.
Skills & experience:
- BS in Computer Science, IT, IS, or equivalent area of technical study (IT experience can substitute for a BS degree)
- Familiarity with container orchestration services, especially Kubernetes and Helm, Ansible, Chef, Terraform, Vagrant, Juju, Puppet could be an advantage
- Familiarity with agile software development in Go, C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience administering and deploying development CI/CD tools especially GitLab CI/CD. Git, Jira, Jenkins, Azure CI/CD could be an advantage
- Significant experience with Linux operating system environments. Experience with Windows could be an advantage.
- Experience with infrastructure scripting solutions such as Bash and Python. PowerShell knowledge could be an advantage.
- Experience with Observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, etc.
- Knowledge about cloud deployment technologies from providers like Azure, AWS, and Google.
- Knowledge about databases like Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB
- Knowledge about NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Redis.
- Operational knowledge about HA architecture and backup processes.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen sense of customer service
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Process-oriented with great documentation skills
- Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
- Experience with or knowledge of Agile Software Development methodologies
