๐ Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Specialist โ Data Engineering with strong expertise in Linux kernel security, vulnerability triage, and patch development. This role focuses on kernel-level vulnerability analysis, secure patch delivery, regression prevention, and AI-assisted patch review within defined SLAs.
๐ ๏ธ Key Responsibilities
Vulnerability Triage & Classification
- Analyze and classify Linux kernel vulnerabilities based on validity, impact, and complexity
- Maintain high triage accuracy aligned with customer quality metrics
- Improve backlog triage velocity and efficiency
Patch Development & Validation
- Develop secure, high-quality kernel patches for validated vulnerabilities
- Deliver patches within defined Time-to-Patch (TTP) SLAs
- Ensure patches pass CI/CD commit checks with high first-pass success
Kernel Debugging & Regression Prevention
- Perform root-cause analysis of kernel crashes, memory corruption, and low-level issues
- Rigorously validate patches to prevent regressions and ensure system stability
- Document and share debugging insights with the team
AI-Generated Patch Review & Annotation
- Review AI-generated code fixes for correctness, security, and logical soundness
- Provide structured annotations (syntax, logic, security flaws) to improve AI models
- Maintain strong annotation quality and depth scores
Collaboration & Process Excellence
- Work closely with Kernel Security Lead and POD teams to meet delivery goals
- Contribute to improving triage workflows, patch templates, and debugging practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (no direct customer ownership)
๐ฏ Skills & Experience Required
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Linux systems, kernel-level engineering, or vulnerability research
- 5+ years of experience in C debugging, low-level memory analysis, or system-level debugging
- Strong expertise in Linux kernel internals, module development, and patch development
- Solid understanding of secure coding practices, vulnerability patterns, and exploit mitigation
- Experience with GDB, ftrace, perf, or similar kernel debugging tools
- Familiarity with kernel.org patch submission standards (formatting, sign-offs, commit messages)
- Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results within SLAs
- Strong written English communication skills for technical documentation and annotations
