We are now looking for a Summer Trainee to join our Sustainability R&D Team, in Lappeenranta.

We work as a team and are highly motivated to support UPM in sustainability goals. We are excited to work together with you on processes or products sustainability related topics in UPM. You will have an opportunity to learn a lot and get to apply what you have already learned in your studies. We are looking forward to welcoming you to grow with us! Sustainability R&D Team

What You Will Do

  • Support the team in various development projects for different UPM businesses
  • Work on tasks including, for example, studying new technologies for wastewater treatment or sustainability aspects in new products development. Your work will include literature reviews on specific topics, possibly laboratory work and reporting results

Who You Are

  • We are looking for students who have already advanced a bit in their studies in the areas of e.g. environmental technology, chemical engineering, or other equivalent training/experience
  • You feel comfortable working in various environments, in team and independently
  • You have a positive and hands-on attitude, eagerness to learn new things and to take initiative and responsibility
  • You have good verbal and written communication skills in English. Finnish language proficiency is considered as an advantage
