Are you an experienced Lead Python Developer ready to kick off the year by building a brand-new greenfield project?

A fast-growing, technology-driven company is seeking an experienced Lead Engineer to join its expanding engineering team in Dublin. This role sits at the heart of the business and is responsible for owning the technical delivery of a modern, Azure-based platform built in Python. You will set engineering standards, lead architectural decisions, and ensure the platform is scalable, secure, and production-ready from day one.

Working in a highly engineering-led environment, you will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and one of the company’s founders, playing a key role in shaping both the technical direction and the engineering culture. This is a greenfield opportunity where clean architecture, modern cloud patterns, and best practices are encouraged and expected.

Your mission

• Lead the architecture and implementation of core backend services, including API layers, scoring and probability integrations, and workflow orchestration.
• Own Azure runtime and infrastructure decisions, including Container Apps, Azure Functions, and App Service, as well as multi-environment deployment strategies.
• Establish API contracts using an OpenAPI-first approach, and define code quality standards and review processes across the team.
• Act as a technical leader by mentoring engineers, running design sessions, and unblocking delivery.

Do you have?

• More than 8 years experience with Python
• Proven production experience on Azure (Functions, App Service, Container Apps) with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
• Strong API design and implementation experience using FastAPI or Flask, including OpenAPI and versioning.
• Solid experience with data layers such as Postgres or Azure SQL, plus Azure storage solutions (ADLS / Blob) and Redis.
