Senior Network Engineer - Almere

• Operate and optimize large-scale Cisco IOS enterprise and core ISP networks, troubleshooting and deploying high-availability solutions using BGP, MLAG, SASE, and firewall platforms.

• Apply strong troubleshooting skills in complex environments with exposure to security technologies including Cisco Firepower, FortiGate, and Palo Alto.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deliver, and maintain large-scale enterprise WAN, SD-WAN, and SASE network projects for major customers.
• Enhance and optimize the core BGP and EVPN/VXLAN infrastructure, ensuring scalability, resilience and high performance.
• Configure, troubleshoot and refine dynamic routing protocols while contributing to ongoing network modernization initiatives.
• Implement and deploy multi-vendor network solutions using Cisco (NX-OS, IOS XR), Fortinet and Palo Alto across enterprise and data centre environments.
• Design and maintain highly available networks, including firewall clustering, MLAG and Nexus vPC, in collaboration with customers and internal teams.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong BGP expertise in Cisco environments, with hands-on experience in routing, switching, Cisco IOS, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Experience delivering secure enterprise and service provider networks, including WAN, SD-WAN, SASE and next-generation firewalls (Cisco Firepower, Fortinet, Palo Alto).
• Knowledge of advanced network architectures, such as MPLS and EVPN/VXLAN, with experience designing resilient, high-availability topologies (MLAG, Nexus vPC).
• Proficiency in automation, using Python or Ansible to improve efficiency across multi-vendor environments.
• Solution-oriented mindset, capable of working across complex network infrastructures.
