AVTECH is a Swedish SaaS company in the aviation industry, headquartered on the 23rd floor of Kista Science Tower in Stockholm. We develop advanced digital services that help airlines worldwide optimize their operations – from fuel savings and flight trajectory optimization to improved punctuality and reduced environmental impact.

We are in a strong growth phase and are now looking for our first dedicated UI/UX Designer to help shape the visual and interaction layer of our products. The Role

We are looking for a UI/UX Designer with a strong visual design focus, solid UX fundamentals, and a natural feel for clean, usable interfaces.

You will be responsible for the design of our web, mobile and tablet application interfaces – from early requirements discussions and concept design, through implementation support, and into post-launch refinement. While UX research and user flows are part of the role, this position leans more towards UI, interaction design, and visual coherence than deep research specialization.

As our first dedicated designer, you will have both significant freedom and responsibility. You will define how design is done at AVTECH, set standards, prioritize design work, and act as the single owner of the design discipline across products.

What You’ll Do

• Participate in early requirements discussions, focusing on how features should be used by different personas.
• Create UX flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI designs using tools such as Figma (and Zeplin or similar).
• Establish and maintain a consistent UX/UI theme and layout across all AVTECH products targeting B2B customers.
• Design responsive interfaces for web and applications.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure a coherent visual and graphical style across products, website, and branding.
• Build AI-based proof-of-concepts to quickly validate UX ideas and interaction flows (e.g. “Lovable-style” PoCs).
• Work closely with developers during implementation, supporting them with design clarifications and UX improvements.
• Participate in post-launch follow-ups to ensure that designs work efficiently for real users and customers.
• Continuously improve usability, clarity, and visual quality of our products.
• Be part of a cross-functional team where software goes directly into production and is used worldwide.

What We’re Looking For

• Around 5 years of professional experience in UI/UX design (experience level is less important than design quality and intuition though).
• Strong visual design skills with a clear sense of layout, typography, spacing, and visual hierarchy.
• Solid understanding of interaction design, information architecture, and usability principles.
• Experience with design systems and component-based design.
• Comfortable working independently and taking full ownership of design decisions.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to communicate design intent clearly to developers and stakeholders.
• Experience designing for complex or data-dense systems (not only marketing sites).
• Good understanding of frontend constraints (CSS layout, components, responsiveness).
• Fluent in English, spoken and written. Swedish is a plus.
• You already live in the Stockholm area.
• A portfolio (website, PDF, or similar) that demonstrates your design work and thinking.
