As an Analytics Engineer at Udemy, you’ll transform raw data into trusted, scalable datasets that power analytics and decision-making across the company. You’ll collaborate closely with business, product, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality data models and pipelines that improve the accessibility and reliability of Udemy’s data ecosystem. About Your Skills
- Data Modeling: You understand dimensional modeling concepts and can design scalable, well-structured data models that support analytics needs.
- SQL Expertise: You write efficient, production-grade SQL and are comfortable optimizing queries for performance.
- Influencing: You build strong relationships across teams, co-design solutions with stakeholders, and strategically align others to move work forward.
- Decision Making: You apply critical thinking to uncover the root cause of problems, evaluate multiple perspectives, and clearly communicate decisions to ensure alignment.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of Python or programming languages and familiarity of modern data tools are a plus.

What you’ll be doing
- Designing and developing data models that support analytics and reporting needs.
- Building and maintaining scalable data pipelines using modern tools such as dbt and Databricks.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into data solutions.
- Ensuring high data quality, reliability, and accuracy through validation, testing, and monitoring.
- Documenting data models and processes to make datasets accessible and user-friendly.
- Troubleshooting and debugging data issues to maintain seamless analytics capabilities.
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, business intelligence, data infrastructure, or a related field.
- Strong SQL skills and experience building production-ready datasets.
- Familiarity with modern data stack tools (dbt, Databricks, or BigQuery preferred).
- Understanding of data modeling concepts, dimensional design, and best practices.
- Experience designing or maintaining data pipelines with reliability and scalability in mind.
- Ability to translate business requirements into robust, well-documented data solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset with eagerness to learn and grow.
- Curiosity and adaptability to stay current on new tools, methods, and industry trends.
