Overview

We are engaging with multiple FinTech, payments, and Web3 companies in Singapore that are looking to speak with experienced Head of Engineering leaders to scale engineering teams, platforms, and infrastructure in highly regulated and fast-growing environments.

This role is ideal for senior engineering leaders who combine strong technical depth, people leadership, and experience building scalable systems across financial services or crypto-native platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and lead the engineering strategy, architecture, and execution across products and platforms.
• Build, scale, and manage high-performing engineering teams (backend, frontend, DevOps, blockchain, data).
• Partner closely with Product, Compliance, Risk, and Business leaders to deliver secure, compliant, and scalable systems.
• Drive engineering best practices across system design, code quality, testing, CI/CD, and incident management.
• Oversee development of core platforms, including payments, trading, custody, wallets, APIs, and data infrastructure (depending on business model).
• Ensure systems meet security, reliability, and regulatory expectations, including audit and compliance requirements.
• Lead technology roadmap planning, balancing speed, scalability, and technical debt.
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies relevant to FinTech and Web3 ecosystems.
• Act as a senior technical voice with stakeholders, partners, and occasionally regulators or auditors.

Requirements

• 10–15+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in engineering leadership roles.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams within FinTech, financial services, payments, trading, or Web3.
• Strong background in distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and system scalability.
• Hands-on experience with modern engineering stacks (e.g. Java, Go, Python, Node.js, React, AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Experience building secure, high-availability platforms handling sensitive financial or transactional data.
• Strong people leadership skills, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
• Comfortable operating in high-growth, ambiguous, and regulated environments.

Strong Plus / Preferred

• Experience in crypto-native, DeFi, CeFi, or blockchain-based platforms.
• Exposure to smart contracts, wallets, custody, trading systems, or on-chain integrations.
• Prior experience working alongside compliance and regulatory teams (e.g. MAS-regulated entities).
• Experience scaling engineering teams from early-stage to growth-stage.
• Track record of balancing hands-on technical leadership with strategic oversight.
