We are looking for a Jr. Capture Artist to join our Games team. This person will be responsible for capturing game footage from in-development game builds to provide top of class assets to the project. This role is perfect for recent film school grads or emerging creatives who want to blend storytelling, cinematography, and games into a career.


Responsibilities:

  • Quickly learn new game builds including debug commands, test and troubleshoot solutions within WIP builds, communicate directly with development team to resolve issues as needed
  • Report back on available options within a build and develop shot lists in collaboration with Creative Directors, Editors, and Producers
  • With an eye for cinematic storytelling, compose and capture scenes that show off key features, impressive visuals, or specific moments within a game
  • Will capture single player projects or second shoot on multiplayer projects under the supervision and guidance of a Game Capture Director
  • Communicate directly with developers to troubleshoot issues
  • This is a hybrid role and requires 1-5 days in office per week depending on project requirements.


Qualifications:

  • Must have a reel or portfolio showcasing your visual storytelling skills (game capture, film, or hybrid work)
  • Must have 1+ years of experience capturing game footage or have a personal knowledge and/or love of gaming, paired with film school experience.
  • Must be comfortable working with various game engines (unreal, unity, etc) and use some video game development terminology
  • Excellent communication, management skills, and passion for gaming
  • Must have experience working with and troubleshooting a wide variety of platforms (mobile, console, PC,VR)
  • Must have a solid working knowledge of cameras including depth of field, aperture, focus, lenses, ISO, etc


Bonus: Background in film/photography/cinematography with a strong understanding of composition, lighting, and color theory in visual media. Familiarity with common game debug tools or free-camera systems
