Backend Developer (Go / Golang)

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Backend Developer (Go / Golang) to join a high-performing engineering team supporting a large, high-traffic platform with a substantial user base. This is an opportunity to work on a mature production system where stability, scalability, and consistent delivery are critical.

You’ll be contributing to the ongoing development and optimisation of backend services, working from well-defined requirements and collaborating closely with frontend, mobile, and platform teams to deliver reliable outcomes at scale.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Building and enhancing backend services and APIs using Go
• Delivering scoped features, improvements, and fixes from a prioritised backlog
• Improving performance, scalability, and reliability across high-throughput systems
• Diagnosing and resolving production issues and technical debt
• Collaborating with product, QA, and infrastructure teams in a structured delivery environment
• Participating in code reviews and contributing to continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

• Strong commercial experience with Go (Golang)
• Experience building and maintaining backend services in high-traffic environments
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and distributed systems
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Experience working with databases, caching, and CI/CD pipelines
• A pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset with attention to detail
