Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cyber Security Analyst to protect the organisation’s systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. The role involves monitoring security events, responding to incidents, and implementing security controls aligned with Australian cyber security standards and best practices.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitor, analyse, and respond to cyber security alerts and incidents
  • Investigate security breaches, perform root cause analysis, and recommend remediation actions
  • Implement and maintain security controls aligned with ASD Essential Eight, ISO 27001, and internal security policies
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments and support penetration testing activities
  • Monitor and tune security tools such as SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, and firewalls
  • Assist with risk assessments, audits, and compliance activities
  • Maintain incident response plans, procedures, and security documentation
  • Provide security guidance and awareness to internal stakeholders
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to continuously improve security posture
Required Skills and Experience
  • 2–5 years’ experience in cyber security, SOC, or information security roles
  • Strong understanding of cyber threats, attack vectors, and defensive techniques
  • Hands-on experience with incident response and security monitoring
  • Knowledge of Australian cyber security frameworks and standards
  • Familiarity with Windows, Linux, networking, and cloud environments
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management tools and SIEM platforms
  • Exposure to DevSecOps and secure coding practices
  • Experience in regulated environments (government, finance, healthcare)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Relevant certifications such as:
  • CompTIA Security+
  • CEH, CISSP, CISM (desirable)
Additional Requirements
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Australian security clearance (if required)
