Your new role

We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to act as the Security Subject-Matter Expert (SME) within the Helpdesk team. In this permanent position, you will be responsible for monitoring and responding to security incidents across client environments, ensuring timely resolution to incidents and preparing detailed post-incident reviews. As part of the Helpdesk team, you will leverage your strong IT support background across systems including servers, networks, storage, and virtualisation platforms, to assist with tickets and IT project delivery as required.

You will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring and triaging security alerts across client environments.
  • Responding to cyber security incidents following established procedures.
  • Prepare detailed post-incident reports for internal and client review.
  • Collaborate with your Helpdesk Team to resolve technical issues and maintain secure systems and networks, assisting with tickets or projects as required.
  • Deliver security awareness initiatives and proactively identify any security risks.
  • Ensure knowledge sharing and industry best practice is embedded into internal posture, by providing guidance and leading by example.




What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong understanding of cyber security principles and incident response.
  • Familiarity with security tools and monitoring platforms such as SIEM, EDR, SOAR.
  • Proven experience in IT support across systems, servers, networks, storage, and virtualisation. Such as Hyper-V, MS 365, Entra ID, Azure and/or AWS, LAN Networks (Routing, VLANs) WAN and SDWAN Networks (Firewall/Fortinet, Routing, VPN).
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft, VMware, Fortinet) (highly regarded).
  • Ideally, 5 + years of experience working in an MSP or MSSP (highly regarded).
  • Valid driving licence and access to a car (essential).
