JDL Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a leading data centre developer who are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their data centre project team in Mainz, Germany.


Lead the successful delivery of a major data centre construction project in Germany, ensuring it is delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role owns stakeholder engagement, project governance, and customer satisfaction throughout all phases of the project.


Responsibilities:


Project Delivery & Governance


  • Drive project through all stages – initiation to handover and closure.
  • Manage scope, cost, schedule, quality, and risk, aligning with business objectives.
  • Manage the General Contractor, Vendors, Consultants as required to achieve goals
  • Ensure compliance with governance, reporting protocols, and project controls.
  • Deliver high-quality documentation: schedules, forecasts, cost reports, risk registers.
  • Drive Decision Making in line with project requirements.


Stakeholder & Customer Management


  • Act as the single point of accountability for project delivery.
  • Build strong working relationships with Development, Design, Operations, Finance, Sales, Legal, contractors, suppliers, and end-users.
  • Maintain clear, concise communication at all levels – from executive updates to team collaboration.
  • Provide regular progress reports and escalate risks or decisions required.


Leadership & Team Management


  • Lead a small in-country project team; both internal and external.
  • Drive accountability and ownership.
  • Inspire confidence, trust, and alignment across cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinate design, engineering, construction and commissioning.
  • Lead the site for Health & Safety ensuring continuous improvement.


Financial & Programme Control


  • Oversee budget management, cost control, and forecasting.
  • Maintain programme integrity, driving on-time milestone delivery.
  • Identify efficiencies and value-add opportunities to optimise resources.


Requirements:


  • Proven track record managing large-scale construction projects (preferably data centre/mission-critical).
  • Strong commercial, financial, and contractual acumen.
  • Expertise with MS Project, Excel, Word for reporting and planning.
  • Exceptional communicator, capable of influencing at senior levels.
  • Problem-solver with the ability to drive resolution under pressure.
  • Fluent English & German (B1/B2 level)
